Some Of The Most Expensive Cars To Insure

A recent article in Insure.com, highlighted 10 of the most expensive – yet exceedingly popular – cars to insure. It’s surprising just how many of these cars you see on the street, considering their high insurance costs. Yet, some people just can’t resist their cars, and are willing to spending thousands of pounds annually insuring them.

Very kindly, Insure have based the example insurance cost on a 40 year old male, typically the target audience for a large flashy car.

At number ten was the Porsche 911, a car you will often notice on the road. According to the article, the average cost of insuring a 40 year old male driver is $1,819 dollars per year – a big spend for any driver.

Jumping to number h2 which sits at number 8. This isn’t a car you see everyday, presumably because parking it is next to impossible in many spaces as the car is basically a tank. Basically, it’s not your mum’s shopping car. To insure a 40 year old male in this car costs around $1,912 per year.

Quickly jumping all the way to number three is the BMW M6 which costs an average of $2,236 per year to insure. The BMW M6 is one of BMW’s high performace cars and a part of their 6 series. The car initially started in 1983 when BMW took the M88/3 engine and put int in the E24 chassis of the BMW 6 series, creating what came to be known as the M6 in North America. The car is still popular today and thanks to its high performance engine, carries a hefty insurance price tag.

At number two is the Dodge Viper, a big fan for drivers of car racing games like Grand Theft Auto. Insure doesn’t mention just how expensive the car is to insure but it’s estimated to be around $2,350 dollars per year.
Finally, in at number one is the Nissan GT-R. This is the most expensive commonly purchased car for a 40 year old male to insure and it racks up an amazing $2,533 on the insurance clock per year. It’s little wonder that you don’t see so many of these cars on the streets. For many of us, it would cost the equivalent of a small house to get our hands on one of them without any spare change for the insurance.

Of course, these cars although expensive to insure, are surprisingly nowhere near as expensive to insure as Darius, the world’s largest rabbit. So be thankful your biggest indulgence is a nice set of wheels and not a fluffy, hopping mammal.

So if you’re thinking of getting a new set of wheels, perhaps one of the cars listed here, it’s important to think about the car insurance costs before driving it out of the garage.

New Drivers Have To Pay A Fortune For Car Insurance

Lots of new drivers are complaining about how expensive the car insurance is for them. Especially for people who are under the age of 25 the car insurance seems to be double the price of their car. This is totally crazy. My sister (22) passed her driving test few months ago and few days ago she bought a used car from used cars company. The car she bought was £2,000 and the car insurance companies gave her the price of £3,500 to insure the car. That is outrageous.

Middle of May she passed her driving test and she was so excited she will get to drive very soon. After she passed her final year’s exams dad bought her an used Volkswagen car. It was of 2002 number plate and had only done 50,000 miles. It looked pretty good and we had it checked in a garage before buying it. After buying the car she went straight online and started looking for cheap car insurance. It was easy looking for the insurance but the results we found were shocking. We tried comparing websites even phoned different insurance companies but none gave us a reasonable quote.

My father drives an Audi Q5 and he only pays £900 for the insurance for that car compare to my sister’s £3,500, which is a joke. I am not sure why the insurance for new drivers are so high. My mum’s brother drives an Audi TT Roadster 2.Tdi Quattro sport which cost him around the region of £30,000 and he only pays £2,00 for that car. Shouldn’t it be expensive the car expensive the car insurance. I think the car insurance should be relevant in compare to the car not the driver. Thereare several good drivers out there who pay stupid amount of money for car insurance.

Don’t you guys agree with this?? Don’t you think the car insurance is sky high for new drivers? What would you suggest the insurance companies to do? Are there any companies which can sort out cheap car insurance?

Cheap Car Insurance for Imported Cars

It’s well known that the pricing in the UK car market is substantially more expensive than the rest of Europe and as a consequence, more and more drivers are turning to imported cars to make savings. However, just how easy are these cars to insure?

To the surprise of many, finding car insurance for imported cars shouldn’t be a problem. For example, the Eunos Roadster was never sold in the UK, and yet there are thousands on UK roads after being imported from Japan.

So how do you find cheap car insurance for your imported car?

The quotes you will receive are dependent primarily on the type of import.

Parallel imports are the cheapest to insure. These are cars bought outside the UK with right-hand drive – they are new cars built to EU-type approval and are usually compatible with our specifications.

By contrast, grey imports are not built to this standard and are not EU-approved. Usually they are second-hand cars that you have to shop around for. In the case of particularly popular models, such as the Mazda Eunos Roadster, you shouldn’t encounter too many problems. However, for rarer models the insurer is less confident that parts will be available in the event of a claim for repairs resulting from an accident and with this in mind many will refuse to offer cover.

If you are considering purchasing a grey import, the best advice is to get a car insurance quote before you buy – so you know exactly what you’re getting into.

Though overseas vehicles are often cheaper, the cost of importing and inflated car insurance premiums can negate the savings you’ve made. At the very least you should shop around for cheap car insurance using a comparison tool, but buying in the UK may prove to be a cheaper long-term option despite the initial outlay.
