How much difference does a car alarm/ spoiler sport model make on insurance policies?

We have been looking at cars and have finally decided on a particular model, but now we have to decide on options packages. One package is considered the “sport model” and has a spoiler on the end of it (the funny looking fin on the back), but it also has a car alarm system. The other package doesn’t have any of the above, but everything else on the car is standard.
I have heard that having a car alarm can reduce your premiums, while a spoiler or sports model may increase them. Is this true? If it is would or could the car alarm cancel out the spoiler/sport model increase?
I have already tried getting several free quotes and none have allowed me to specify my policy this specifically.

Why does the engine size of a car make so much difference in car insurance quotes?

How is it that cars with bigger engines are much more expensive to insure? Surely a 1.0 litre car and a 2.5 V6 car both travelling at 70MPH for example will cause the same amount of damage (albeit the car that weighs more may have more momentum).
I can’t seem to work out the other side of this arguement. Is there anyone who could explain the difference please?

Right now I pay $136 every 6 months. Occasionally he takes my car, but usually drives his (insured) scooter to work. Have only been married 3 months, so haven’t changed my policy yet. I’m 55, he’s 51 with a clean record. If he is only an occasional driver does it make a big difference?
